Ammonia (NH3) is one of the most commonly produced industrial chemicals in the United States. It is used in industry and commerce, and also exists naturally in humans and in the environment. The problem is that during that time ammonia was used in most refrigerators, and it was toxic and many food-industry workers died.
His team worked very hard and researched with a potential alternative refrigerant. Tetrafluoroethylene is a chemical compound with the formula C2F4. It belongs to the family of fluorocarbons and is the simplest per fluorinated alkene. This gaseous species is used primarily in the industrial preparation of polymers. Tetrafluoroethylene is a colorless, odorless gas.
