Tasha Qualities

In life there are different ways of effective leadership. I know a leader in my life, Tasha, who can lead and guide others effectively in three ways. She can lead with discipline, encouragement, and love. She treats everyone the same way and is very honest to all the people she love. She respects anyone who keeps their faith and pray to have strength when the toughest times come around. She loves to build spirits up with her voice and let it reach out to others. Especially for people who need encouragement the most, she wants to help those who do not know the way to live a good life. When Tasha leads with discipline, she listens to others first then she speaks her mind. If she asks someone to do something and they do not do it, she will preach in a loud tone. She will put a person to work quickly. Because people listen and understand the words she says when she talks loud, she is bold, which means she do not substitute words. She is a loving person and she loves people even when they hate her. She will still help those who despise her because it is the right thing to do and it represents who she is as a person. She will cook for people if they need to eat; even if they get in trouble or they are on the street having a hard time. She knows what it is like being hungry and wanting something to eat, so she does not want others suffering through that. Tasha will cook a large meal, such as chicken, ham, greens, mash potatoes, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, or fish for anyone. She loves when others eat her food and they smile and thank her. When someone disrespects her, she will immediately forgive and forget that it happen. She tells everyone that she loves them and that God will take care of them. She will buy things for people when they need something. She likes to give gifts to people on their birthdays. She will give multiple gifts to make a person feel good. She wants everyone to feel loved and that they are

Once we learn about others perspectives we can truly show compassion for others and become effective leaders.…

The best type of leader is a person that encourages its employees to not only benefit themselves, but to strive to be the best type of leader for their community. Most people see being a leader as a person that has a strong sense of basic organization skills and can manage multiple people, but in my opinion that is a selfish act that only helps a small portion of people. To be a successful leader is simply defined as a person the run an organization or an office, but how is that a leader? A leader should be motivating and not solely where it is convenient for making money, hence I think that being a leader should be more influential to aspects of life that are bigger than ourselves.…

I like to think of leadership as anything you do to influence others. Although I do not often find myself in formal leadership positions, I believe that my willingness to volunteer and serve others has had a positive effect on those around me. The small and simple ways I lead sometimes go unnoticed but that has only made my sacrifice more special to me and, I hope, to those I have served. Selfless service creates a love that I cannot describe. Some of my dearest friends were made when I found myself the giver or receiver of such priceless love.…

Social Work with Groups course is giving me more insight to the other courses that I have taken previously and some of those that I am currently rolled in such as Social Work with Families and Community Development. After reading the textbook and the discussions in class, the theories of group counseling, viewing groups through multicultural lens, leadership qualities and functions, co-facilitator and group development stood out for me and broaden my perception into Social Work as a profession. The first thing that caught my attention this time is that, theories of counseling are also applicable to group counseling. I learned about the theories in my social work practice class last year. This show how important the theories are to me as an emerging social worker.…
