What Is T-Rex?

Decent Essays
Tyrannosaurus rex ("sue") lived during the late cretaceous period about 65 million years ago, toward the end of the Mezozoic era. T-Rex lived in a humid, semi-tropical environment, in open forests with nearby rivers and in coastal forest swamps. T-rex was about 40 feet long and about 15 to 20 feet tall. It had tiny arms about 3 feet. It was bipedal, it walked on two muscular legs. Scientists believe the powerful predator could eat up to 500 pounds of meat in one bite. T-Rex was also a very big meat-eater dinosaur called a carnivore. It would have been at the top of the food chain. It's known to have fed on other large dinosaurs such as Edmontosaurus, Anatosaurus and Triceratops and probably could have swallowed small dinosaurs in one

After years of debate, scientists now know that dinosaurs were the ancestors of birds, not reptiles. Dr Jakob, along with scores of other palaeontologists, have confirmed that dinosaurs as large as T. rex were covered in feathers rather than scales. " Velociraptors featured quite heavily in the film. We know that there's not a single inch of a velociraptor's body, apart from nails and claws, that wasn't covered in…

No matter how many times you've seen the Mosasaurus jump out of the water and devour that great white shark in the trailer, it still takes you aback in the movie. The dinosaurs look amazing and though it's probably not as much of a technical breakthrough compared to the original Jurassic Park in '93, they still look pretty darn good. When Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt sit down to touch one of the wounded dinosaurs, you can actually see and hear their hands patting the animal. You can clearly see the light reflecting off the Triceratops' horns, the layers of eyelids when the Indominus Rex blinks and the blood dripping from its maw because it's just eaten a few people. It can be argued that the dinosaurs do not look scientifically accurate, but for what they were intended to look like, they look pretty darn real to me.…

One of those animals was the Thalattoarchon saurophagis, which scaled up to at least 28 feet long and could be compared to a bus. This creature was considered in the group of ichthyosaur which was a group of reptiles that dominated the seas while the dinosaurs were roaming the earth during the Triassic period. The creature was discovered in Nevada.…

Going back to the title the dinosaur can be a symbol of extinction or bringing the past into the present. However, the author wants the audience to see how the dinosaur means clutching onto big childhood aspirations. Furthermore, hugging it tight and protecting it so it does not become extinct and just something one reads about in the past. The audience can see that black boy holding the gun as if he has no time for dreams and therefore cannot worry about those kinds of thing. In the line where the author writes, “no one kills the black boy.…

The species I chose was Pterois volitans, which is commonly known as a lionfish or red lionfish. They are characterized by alternating white and red/brown stripes and contain venomous spines all over the body. Lionfish can grow up to 18.5 inches in length and are a species native to the Indo-Pacific region. Economically speaking lionfish are not regularly used in the seafood business, but are a huge part of the aquarium trade (Robbins). Due to the spines described above, there does not seem to be a predator that feeds on these fish in the Atlantic Ocean.…

"The Sound of Thunder" was written by Ray Bradbury. This story sowed us a great image of time traveling in the past, Bradbury talked about a time travel company that allows you to go to a safari in an era of dinosaurs by paying a fee and signing a contract. Bradbury showed us that an infinitesimal change in the past like killing a butterfly can change everything for the future and present life. This book was written ten years ago but it can correlate with all of the advancements in technology we have now, one day we may have the chance to time travel. Bradbury description of the Tyrannosaurus Rex was very vivid, "It's mouth gaped, exposing a fence of teeth like daggers.…
