The time when I felt that my life is against me was when I lost the post I wanted in student government of my school. Positive thinking skills helped me to come out of depression and taught me a great lesson of life, i.e. whatever happens it happens for good. So, my positive thinking skills helped me to get out of depression and helped me in succeeding in school.

There were various posts in school government and anyone of them could have worked out for me as my main focus was to be a part of my school’s student government not the post. Every student wanted to be in student government, so there was really tough competition and I was very positive about it. The procedure of posting was very long and stressful. When the selection got started, I was very positive about it as I knew that I be someone for the betterment of the school in the student government. But later, one of my classmates challenged me. She knew that I was a strongly considerable candidate for the post of head girl of my school, which was the most responsible post of all. She tried to put me down, but I didn’t. Earlier, I took that challenge very positively, but because of her attitude toward me enforced me to change my focus. I decided that if I want to be something in the student government then it would only be the head girl. Somehow my positivity towards completion vanished somewhere. Before the honor day, the dean of my school called all the selected to students to give each one of us the post we suited the most. I was also there. Next, my parents didn’t know about the result as I wanted to surprise them. So, when, it was the Investiture Ceremony day where all the students were honored by the school. I was nervous as I wanted my parents to be proud of me. Finally, when I was honored as the house captain of the school. I saw my parents and they were proud of me and praised me. They also made me realized that it was better that I was posted as the house captain of the school and not the head girl. Also, they made me realized that everything happened for a reason. If I had been the head girl of my school, then I wouldn’t be able to concentrate on my studies and due to my tight schedule I wouldn’t have shown my full responsibility to the post. Shockingly, everything came out to be true. So, being positive makes everything

rticle 5: Crucibles of Leadership Central Theme: Perspective determines whether a person fails or succeeds. Bennis and Thomas describe a crucible as a “point of deep self-reflection” that forces a person to “question who they [are] and what [matters] to them” (Bennis and Thomas, p.99). The authors gave several examples that displayed how different people used their unpleasant or enlightening experiences to become successful. The most important thing to understand is that any opportunity good or bad can be taken as an opportunity to grow or go. Critical Analysis: The authors did not give a formulaic response as to how to overcome or conquer a crucible; they solely gave examples of how successful people have overcome their personal crucibles.…

A majority of the people in that room had been close friends of mine, causing it to be even more challenging to not be distressed. I had let them and myself down.
