What Is Submarine Waste

Decent Essays
Submarine waste can range in many different aspects. Cardboard can be stored on board due to less weight; as for cans, they have to be added to the waste streams of the submarine. The combined compacted volume of food contaminated plastic and paper is less than 0.01 ft^3, which means this waste can be stored under the Annex V because of the eliminated storage. Submarines prefer to keep storage in food storage due to precautions to bypass contamination of unused supplies, which is needed for the submarine. Dry waste is then combined using the trash compactor then placing the waste in the special cans. The cans are then fabricated on board from the pre punched galvanized, perforated steel sheets. The result of the can turns out as 28.5 inches
