Stereotype is widely used word and its general meaning is well known, but it is necessary to find out how the display of stereotypes can affect society and relationship between various social groups. Although these stereotypes do not represent reality they are able to communicate certain messages. Oxford Dictionary explained stereotypes as “A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing: the stereotype of the woman as the career, sexual and racial stereotypes” (Oxford dictionary).
