Sleep deprivation. A continually growing issue in the United States. People often more times than not, do not get enough sleep in the 24 hour span of the day. Not getting enough sleep in each day causes issues and affects a human’s life significantly. Sleep deprivation effects people to function at a slower level, both physically and mentally. By performing routine, everyday activities, sleep deprivation does not allow people to perform at a high level of awareness. People in the work place are not aware of many situations that they would be if they did not have sleep deprivation. Because of this lack of effort, people are limited to the number of opportunities they have. Many sleep deprived people are simply too exhausted to do whatever they have to do. Sleep deprivation forces laziness, and lack of effort from individuals. “No sleep equals low effort, which equals low quality” (Sleep Deprivation). Teachers or professors may provide work to be done for a certain class, but because of the lack of sleep students may feel they just need to complete the assignment, so it is over with. They may not put the necessary work that the teacher or professor is looking for. The lack of effort by the student results in the potential of a poor grade. Poor grades limit the options for high school students when they are researching which colleges they may apply to. Productivity of a person with sleep deprivation tends to be on the low side of most scales. People with sleep deprivation produce worst results in the classroom. They produce worst within the work place. They produce worst in their personal lives. People with sleep deprivation struggle to produce proper results, “products are like humans, if you can’t take care of them you can’t sell them” (Sleep Deficit). If people can’t sell themselves in life, they limit their options to succeed. They can’t sell themselves to get into appropriate colleges, appropriate jobs, and appropriate relationships. Life is all about how well a person can sell them self to their desired objective. If a person isn’t capable of being their selves throughout life, then they are limiting their opportunities to
