Forskolin is an herbal extract found in the Plectranthus barbatus, which is a tropical perennial plant that is a member of the mint family and is native to certain areas of Africa and Asia. Forskolin itself is more specifically found in the roots of the plant. The whole plant has been used for ages in Ayurvedic medicine to treat various illnesses and conditions. The extract contains just the forskolin, and it has been used in more recent times for similar purposes.
