THERESIENSTADT ( Terezin )

On November 24 , 1941 the Nazis established a ghetto in Theresienstadt. Many Jews felt happy about this new concentration camp. They felt like this because the Germans told them it was a safe place. By 1942 several thousands of Jews were transported to Theresienstadt. Little did they know that they were in danger. Terezin's most tragic chapter came during WWII ( 1939-1945 ). In 1940 Prague's Gestapo installed the Terezin small fortress police prison , about 32,000 prisoners passed through the Terezin Small Fortress between 1940 and 1945. The town erected in the late 18th century by Habsburg Emperor Joseph II. He named it after his mother, Empress Maria Theresa. The smaller of two fortresses had been used as a prison for ' political undesirables.' In 1942 Terezin was transformed by the Nazis into a Jewish ghetto-transit camp. The Nazis made a propaganda movie to present Terezin as a " gift " to the Jews from Hitler. The propaganda was supposed to dispel rumors about

She was a teenage girl who lived in Frankfurt,Germany. Her story is well-known because of her diary and experience during the Holocaust. When I entered the Anne Frank exhibit, I thought to myself , wow it's crazy how she had a great life, but then with a flash everything changed into a nightmare. As I entered the Holocaust exhibit made me mad and sad. I felt mad because of what they were doing to innocent people , and I felt sad because of the children that had to go on and suffer without their parents.The Holocaust exhibit helps people to understand genocide so that in the future it won't occur again. My experience at the Museum of Tolerance was very emotional for me. I will never forget about all those people. One important lesson one can learn after reading Anne Frank's story is , always be happy for what you
