“What is Poverty?” is written by Jo Goodwin Parker. She tells about her life living in poverty and the emotions that coincided. She began her life in poverty, then she moves away to start a new life with her husband. It was a time when she did not live in poverty. Her husband lost his job, therefore they were unable to pay for their living expenses. Jo was unable to obtain a job that would sustain them. They came back to live in the same area she lived in before. They struggle in poverty for a bit together consequently her husband left her and the children. She had three children to support with no means to do it. Her three children suffered in poverty with her.
