Pet Peeve: Organization If you know where you got it from, please, set it back in it's original place. It is as simple as that. Don't let it become a big deal because of your one mistake. Not putting things where you got it from is an easy way to lose things. It is also the start of an unorganized lifestyle. Don't you like to know where things are and what happens to them? Well then? Start being more organized. If you are, I applaud you! If you are not, you need help, or get organized yourself. It gives me a headache when I see an unorganized mess. In the essay Neat People vs. Sloppy People by Suzanne Britt she explains what she believes the differences are between neat people and sloppy people. The Suzanne Britt has a tendency to support the sloppy people more than the neat people because she believes that the sloppy people are disorganized because they have more important tasks to perform then to clean. I believe that the neatness that the author is talking about could be a symbol of metaphorical clutter people may have in their lives. The clutter that she is referring to is likely the difficult situations that people encounter in their everyday lives. This form of disorganization and discombobulation can clutter the mind filling it with important or sometimes unimportant information.…

This is especially true with sloppy people. Not being able to move on in life makes it difficult to be productive. Neat people do not have to hold on to things. They put things in there, what they think, is respected place and move on. The author is exaggerating neat people’s perspective on how they live life and do things, rather than looking at it as them wanting to be productive and not being held back by holding on to things they do not want to.…

I have always had a certain obsession with organizing. Arranging important documents into vanilla folders and double-checking labels to make sure I filed them correctly. For example, I would chronologically sort the memories of a bad college relationship into mental file cabinets “2006, 2007, and 2009,” in cerebral folders “R,” respectively. Maybe “R” stood for “reasoning.” According to me, there was no other effective way to deal with life.…

“Oh, I’m have to keep my room organized. I am so OCD.” Commonalities such as this one are frequently misused by many people - most of whom are people who do not even have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder or simply have not been educated about what the disorder actually is. OCD is oftentimes seen as simply a facet of every person’s personality that makes him or her desire to keep things clean or organized a certain way. Although a symptom of some people’s OCD can be related to organization, their compulsions tend to be more complex, long-lasting, and detrimental; sometimes including compulsions that can last upwards of an hour (Fennell 1).…

Therefore, when we were all organizing the room, I was a little hesitant to tell everyone what needs to be done; and if something was not in the right place, I just shifted it myself without telling the person who placed it wrongly. Shifting and moving things continued for about two hours and then I got tired of it, me trying to place the items at their designated spot without telling everyone made organizing a long and difficult process. I noticed not much was getting done; hence, this made me realize that maybe it would be better if I tell everyone what needs to be done and how the staff likes it. After I told everyone what we should do, we all worked as a team and finished everything in 4 hours. I was really proud of everyone, and happy about how efficiently we could all work together.…

Neat people are, as I like to call them “Neat Freaks” because they are always organizing everything. Neat people also have less patience because they want everything done their way. They also want things done faster without wasting time. Neat people can also be wasteful because, for example, they might go to the store and buy a two pound bag of flour and only use one pound and throw the rest away. Neat people are also insecure about finishing work on time or about having homework without their knowledge.…

Deciding to organize your closet can be an amazing decision if you allow it to be. This process can shave off hours of pillaging for a certain item of clothing, which will allow you to spend this time more productively; however, if you do not make a commit to the maintenance of your closet, chaos will strike and the organization will disintegrate. One must always keep in mind that there is multiple ways to organize a closet, and my suggestions may not be the best rout for you to take. Before attacking all the clothes, shoes, and other messes in your bedroom closet, you need to make a commitment to yourself and anyone else that shares the closet with you; such commitment will be that you will take the time and energy to clean and maintain the organization of the closet at any time. This means that if you do get your closet organized, generally speaking, it will stay like this on a day-to-day basis.…
