After reading the title of this essay, a name maybe even a few popped right into your head. Let’s be frank here, no matter how accepting and people loving you are there is at least that one person who drives you crazy. There is always that one person in our daily lives, who no matter what, just spews negativity around and can just be plain mean and nasty. No matter how straight laced a person you are, you’ve probably had some not so great thoughts cross through your mind. Thoughts may have included: you’ve watched all the CSI¸ Law and Order, and Criminal Minds that you know how to kill that person and make it look like an accident or you wished that something terrible would happen to them. You know, the ones wishing harm or misfortune to the person who seems to refuse to treat you like a respectable human being. Then the guilt comes. Oh, that guilt it eats at you and taunts you till you think you are going insane. At the same time you think looking at your co-worker who makes it known she believes (hence believes) she is above you, and just wish could grab her and shake her till she changes. Well two things, minus the fact you are too kind and too moral, stop you. The first you know it won’t do you any good you will most likely get fired and if not work will just become even more torturous. The second, your co-worker is a police officer and you do not what to get arrested and have a felony charge of assaulting an officer on your record. Well instead of grinning and bearing the assaults against your humanity, like you have done so many times, cut her off kindly, apologize for whatever you ‘did,’ and ask “how do you want to fix this” or “what would you like me to do.” Doing something like this catches them off guard and will often times leave them speechless for a second. In that time, wait there with a concerned look and wait for a response. Once you receive a response do as they instruct and consult your actual boss later. Bringing them in at the moment creates more tension so wait till the end of the day or even the next and normally they will take of the
