Oedipus the king is Sophocles’ play showing tragedy story of the downfall of an honored king. Oedipus was respected and admired by people because determination in loyal ruling and the ability to face fear. Oedipus in the play had ideal individual personality but had a tragic flaw in terms of moral disposition. The play shows Oedipus with tragic experiences associated with two choices, anger and pride. Oedipus was a hero because of the flaws. The tragic flaw is excess pride and belief of self-righteousness. The king was very temperamental and had pride of in saving people to prove heroism.
