What Is Nomads: A Narrative Fiction

The nomads enter the field from the forest edge one by one. Jessie stands a few feet away from Victoria and James as Laurent steps forward. This action is followed by two blonde males, one with curly hair and the other straight and cropped, and one buff male, stepping forward in front of their coven. Jessie notices that the older blonde with straight hair was clearly the leader. Laurent steps closer to the coven leader and spoke:
“We thought we heard a game. I’m Laurent," he pointed to himself. "This is Victoria and James," Laurent now pointing at the red-head nomad and her blonde mate. "And the beauty over there is Jessibella,” Jessie, hating anyone using her full name, growls at Laurent in warning. "But she prefers Jessie.”
“I’m Carlisle,

“We’re headed north, in fact, but we were curious who was in the neighborhood. We haven’t run into any company in a long time.”
“No, this region is usually empty except for us and the occasional visitors, like yourselves.”
The tension in the air at the beginning of this meeting was lessening as the two leaders talk. Jessie, always cautious and diligent, carefully watches this coven of strange golden-eyed vampires. Jessie knew that tension as thick as that didn’t just fade with words, one of this coven was using a gift -a gift just like her Major’s- Jessie’s eyes fell back to Jasper. This Jasper shared his name, his looks, and his gift with her Major. It has to be him, but Jessie didn’t want to believe it. She had seen the pyre of her Major. Maria had burned his body for abandoning his duties and trying to flee.
“What’s your hunting range?” Jessie heard Laurent inquire, bring her from her dark memories.
“The Olympic Range here, up and down the Coast Ranges on occasion. We keep a permanent residence nearby. There’s another permanent settlement like ours up near Denali.” The use of the word permanent confuses Jessie. Vampires can’t have a permanent residence. Vampires have to keep relocating to prevent exposure to humans, which would cause the Volturi to come to enforce the laws. That is why she joined James, Victoria, and Laurent, a nomadic life keeps her mind on the future instead of the

We have to stay inconspicuous, you understand.”
“Of course, we certainly won’t encroach on your territory. We just ate outside of Seattle, anyway,” Laurent stated with a laugh.
We’ll show you the way if you run with us- Emmett and Alice, you can go with Edward and Bella to get to the Jeep,” Jessie could tell Carlisle was trying to distract them from something. Her eyes moved to the one named Bella, at the mention of the girl’s name. Jessie started at the girl and now was getting the chance to see this Bella. She realized they were hiding a human among them. She silently gasps, it was like looking in a mirror, the human looks exactly like Jessie did as a human, 140 years ago.
Just then a small breeze of wind blows a delicious scent from the coven toward Jessie and her companions. The delicious scent of human blood was alluring and hard to resist. Within milliseconds, Edward was baring his teeth at James. Jessie Knew James was a brutal monster when it came to hunting, and this scent had clearly called to him, for James was eyeing the human like he did with every human he drank from. James was now in a crouch, which was met by a feral Edward, who looked ready to destroy

Tim Burton’s beautifully haunting production of ‘Edward Scissorhands’ introduces our protagonist, represented by Johnny Depp, and explores the fictional story of this solitary boy with an unfortunate seemingly threatening oddity, being thrust into a world where he is glaringly blatant in the midst of the suburbs. Despite his intimidating exterior, it is almost immediately exposed that Edward is just an innocent, childlike soul, intent on serving others. The purpose of this film was to delve into the threatening manner of suburbia and its dismissive views on originality. Burton shattered cliches and stereotypes of who ‘monsters’ are by introducing the monster in the form of townspeople. As Tim Burton’s individual ordeals are translated into…
