What Is My Writing In My Honor English Class

Improved Essays
1) Honestly, I believe that my writing in this class reveals that I am not a great writer and I am not fluent in English, at all. Even though I have passed the California English (or ESL) standard test for English learner or students that have English as a second language, however, I am still not very proficient in the language. For example, I have a difficult time pronouncing the plurals when I read something out loud and I still continue to make simple grammar mistakes in my writing. Furthermore, my recent writing assignments have been improved, thanks to Paper Rater. Additionally, I am very surprised and proud at the same time to think that I can keep up with the high honor expectations in an honor English class.

2) Personally, I really

Early on in this class my writing was not the best, but through the extensive practice and learning about different writing prompts and techniques my writing got better throughout the year. The decoding packets that we did also helped me fix some of the frequent grammatical mistakes that I made. As the year went on this class became slightly, and I mean slightly easier. I am immensely proud of the fact that my writing has improved over this year, and the improvements in every area of writing that I made is the one thing that I feel the most accomplished…

Writing has always been one of the most difficult skills that I have been learning through my college career, but it has also been the most important skill because unlike other skills writing affects my works across all courses or subjects. Writing has also helped me to get in to UMD, receive scholarships, and be accepted in research programs. Therefore, all the effort that I have made to improve my writing skill is worth it. From experience, writing is not like other skills that one can learn overnight, for me, writing skill is very slow progress and requires a lot of writing and reading; this is what I got from this class. In this class, my writing has advanced because I am reading more, practicing more, and writing more.…

During this semester of English W131, I have experienced both accomplishments and setbacks while learning how to improve my writing skills. Throughout the course, I have learned that writing is not only about how much information is in the paper, but also about how well the writer’s thoughts are expressed throughout the text. Practicing many different styles of writing as I did in the class has helped me tremendously with my delivery in my writing. I believe that this course was one to prepare us for future writing courses with professors we will encounter who will give us feedback that may puzzle us because it will require more work and more thinking. Although I have had difficulty in the class, I do believe that I have learned from my mistakes and that I am finishing the course with stronger writing skills that will help me though the rest of my college career and life.…

I believe that I should be chosen for the New Prague Honor Society chapter, for many reasons. Growing up receiving a private catholic education, k-8th grade, I was always taught to live by the four pillars. School does not always come easy to me, but I am a very hard worker. I am also involved in sports, which in order to excel, you need to put your education first. My first year on the Dance Team I received “Most Improved Dancer” award.…

Before beginning this course, I knew that I lacked confidence within my writing. People say that you are your own worst critique, and I fully agree with that statement. My writing was not terrible in some aspects, but I knew that it needed to be improved upon. I lacked the experience needed because writing was not something that I did on a daily basis. When I first started English 1302, the little confidence that I had significantly plummeted since my writing seemed childish compared to other students.…

If I had to choose one phrase to describe myself it would be, “Above and beyond the call of duty,” or as I like to say, “A and B the C of D.” It’s something I read in a book a long time ago that has always stuck with me. I strive to do my best in order to achieve my goals and exceed expectations. In high school, I always tried to take advanced classes because I wanted to challenge myself and learn more complex ideas. I enjoyed learning with peers who, like me, wanted to get more out of their educations.…

I tried to do the best I can, but somehow I would also get a bad grade due to my poor grammer. I do not really have any problems with reading or writing of my own choice. I can still be a slow reader to this day, but not like I once was. I could write pages on pages of a topic I am drawn to. I could add more details as well.…

To be completely honest I have mixed feelings about writing and I don’t really have any memorable experiences that made me feel this way, it is just the experiences that I have had with the subject while trying to apply it. I struggle with what to write down mostly and creativity in general and I don’t really excel at any part of it. If I were to say I “excel” at anything it would be revising my work and adding to it. At the end of the semester I hope that I have relearned some key writing elements that lack of practice has caused me to lose.…

At the beginning of the semester, I viewed myself as a creative writer. After attending this class I realized that there is a lot more that goes into writing an essay, or a research paper, than just creativity alone. I have learned that it is very important to be aware of my strengths and weaknesses in my writing. Taking this class has helped me understand the strengths and weaknesses in my writing skills, and it has given me the opportunity to strengthen the areas in which I was weak. An example of this is that I have become aware of my grammar and spelling errors as the semester progressed.…
