Over the Years
As a senior in high school I realized that I needed to figure out what school to attend and what I will major in. On occasions I would find myself gazing at pictures of Delaware State in pamphlets and online. I decided to begin looking at the school and all it had to offer. I cannot explain how I felt when I finally got the opportunity to visit the campus, it was love at first sight. The atmosphere was exciting and fresh but not one that would become a distraction. Student that attended told me of their experiences on campus and how much they loved the school. I noticed that there are students from all over the world that attend Delaware State, which was very fascinating to see at a historically black university. The financial

During high school I could do the least amount of work and still manage to pass. This scenario is not possible in the college sitting. In college they have very high expectations for the students. No More reading along as a class, the students are expected to teach themselves the material and be ready to discuss or be tested what they learned. If the work is not done it’s very easy to fall behind. A sure way to succeed is to attend class, take notes, ask for extra help, and study hard.
Another goal of mine would be to not go home every weekend. I am not getting the college experience when I keep going home like I never left. I would like to limit my going home to every two or three weeks. On the bright side staying at school on the weeks will be a new experience for me. I might meet new people at a social get together and just have some casual

Since I’ve been here I can surely say that I have not received the recommended eight hours of sleep, not one night. There’s always something to be done such as an essay, test, or presentation. I cannot fully blame my sleep habits on academics because I do have a life. I stay up to be social and hang out with friends or watch a movie to relax a bit. I have been sleeping more during the day than I ever have at night while at school.
I plan to receive all the opportunities that I can while I’m in school. If there are internships or jobs that I might be slightly interested in I would like to apply. I do not want to be the student that sits around letting opportunities pass me by. Everything might not work out in my favor but that will not stop me from trying. I also plans to not let fear hold me back from possible success. If I fail to get that opportunity there will always be next year.
Getting involved in campus life in very important. Here at Delaware State there are multiple student organizations that I could get involved in. they truly do mean it when they said that there is a club for everyone. Joining a club is one of the easiest way to meet new people. Some of the best memories are guaranteed by getting

I have always been independent, but I fully seeked independence when I was 16 years old. This was the year of 2016, and this was the year that my life changed; I was forced to grow up and learn how to be more independent. The first step to my seeking of independence was turning 16 years old and getting my driver’s license. This meant I was finally able to go out on my own and not rely on others to take me places anymore. In the year of 2016, I also began taking classes at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute to earn college credits.…

I learned so much from attending Etna-Dixmont School, both morally and logically. When I started my freshman year at Nokomis Regional High, I found that a lot of the things I was being taught were things that I had already learned at Etna-Dixmont School. I feel like I had gotten a jumpstart, especially in maturity. My teachers drilled the importance of respect and responsibility into my brain from the first time I stepped foot into the building. I feel like that has been a huge advantage to me in high school, and I have used that knowledge for the better.…

When I visited George Washington my sophomore year of high school, I instantly knew that your school is where I wanted to go for college. It just wasn't like any of the other colleges that I had seen before, and for that matter it was unlike any I have seen since. I saw that GW is in a beautiful location and that its presence in the capitol greatly enhances both its value and the city’s around it. I really liked walking around the campus, as it was extremely vibrant. I saw that safety is also important, and the combination of security that holds jurisdiction in this area is extremely reassuring.…

The view from the top of Vernon Hill, a low-income neighborhood in Worcester, MA, is reflective of both of my lineage and my current identity with aspirational career goals. It is also the scene in the opening paragraph of my book that connects my family history with my professional ambitions. My personal story inspires my academic hopes of becoming a lawyer who fights for the underprivileged and helps create access to educational opportunities for them. As Irish immigrants with limited money and no education, my great-grandparents moved to a three-decker house on Vernon Hill.…

I m originally from Secaucus New Jersey, I have moved to Houston during my senior year of college. I didn’t know any university during that time because I was still new to Texas. But as time passed by, people would always gave high remarks and praised Sam Houston State University in Kingwood High School. As a child raised in a predominantly African-American neighborhood, my initial encounter with people from other backgrounds occurred when the school district started bussing kids across the city to largely populated white schools. While this experience took us out of our neighborhood schools, it provided an opportunity to meet students from other races, ethnicities, and religions which were different from me. Interacting with kids from various backgrounds helped me to be more open to different perspectives and not to prejudge. Additionally, the church I grew up in was very strict.…

In a post-apocalyptic modern Japan, 35% that is in ruins from the mass attack of Akatsu when they first appeared, has been abandoned. This night was named the Akayume (赤夢 - red dream), as a way to describe the rain that turned red with the blood of the victims lost that day and the collective thoughts of the people who wished with all their might that it was nothing but a bad dream. We used this abandoned place to get rid of anything that would bring chaos, to create a system where its citizens could live without fear. That 35% part of the country is called the Black Society, where you can get your hands on anything illegal that's been banned and where most criminals and those in poverty live.…

As everyone knows, I am white, probably a pretty pale white if you want me to be specific. I am your typical white, blonde haired, blue eyed average girl with little freckles here and there on her cheeks. Now, being adopted into an Indian family, who are typically dark skinned people with their thick black hair and their dark colored eyes, anyone would be able to easily guess that I am not originally apart of my family. All throughout my childhood, and even growing up, I truly and completely thought and believed that I, myself, was Indian, just like everyone else in my family. The only thing I never ever quite understood was why I was so pale with blonde hair instead of black hair, and blue eyes instead of dark brown eyes?…

Americans owe more than 875 billion dollars on student loans, which is more than the total amount that Americans owe on their credit cards. The reason such an inflated number of people request student loans is due to its exorbitant cost. Therefore, post-secondary education should be paid for by the gouvernement. Seeing as the price is so prohibitive, paid education would permit an easier financial situation to certain families, a better mental health and would prevent debt at such a young age.…
