Muhammed Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville Kentucky. He grew up with his father mother and older brother Rudolph. Muhammad was not born named Muhammad his birth name was Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr.
At a young age of just 12 Muhammad wanted to box, it started with his bicycle getting stolen and he reported it to a police officer say he wanted to whoop whoever took his bike, the officer told him if he wanted to whoop somebody he had to learn how to first and the next day Muhammad showed up to the officers boxing classes and kept going from there.
At this time in Muhammad’s he is 27 years old and this is where he is going to take a stand. AT 27 years old Muhammad ail was getting forced into war, but Muhammad refused to go into war due to his religious beliefs. Ali is Islamic and says “I cannot shoot my brothers, or some darker people, or some poor hungry people in the mud for big powerful America. And shoot them for what?" Muhammad did not in fact go to war but paid $10,000, couldn’t box for 3 years and was sentenced 5 years in prison but never actually served them. …show more content…

His daughter Laila Ali also became a boxer in 1999
