What Is Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy?

Studies have been shown that “mindfulness-based cognitive therapy” is much more efficient in treating depression and anxiety than antidepressants. It’s a mindful meditation to prevent relapse back into the depressive state which can be helpful for long term treatment. On this session it teaches the patient to be aware of their feelings and senses and accept them for what they are in a nonjudgmental state of mind. This way it provides an internal form of therapy rather than external forces such as chemicals to manually tamper with the inner balance of the brain.
