Medical Terminology is very important to learn and understand. It is used to describe symptoms, diagnoses, test, and even special equipment needed for a patient. One small mistake can make a big difference such as the wrong medication could be ordered or administered, wrong procedure done or even a wrong test ordered or performed for no reason. There are many words that are spelled or even sound similar but the meanings are completely different.

abduct- to draw away from a position parallel to the median axis / adduct- to draw towards a position near or parallel to the median axis

advice- a recommendation or counsel / advise- to give advice or counsel

apophysis- a projecting part of a bone / epiphysis- the end of a long bone

ilium- bone
