What Is Mayella's Power In To Kill A Mockingbird

Power can be described as someone that who rules over something else. To Kill A Mockingbird is about scout the main character and her life in Maycomb. Because of her class and gender Mayella lacks power, but her race makes her powerful.
As a result of Mayella’s class she lacks power because she is in the lowest class of them all. “Mayella’s Ewells lived behind the garbage dump in what was once a negro cabin…. (Doc A)” , and this shows that she is in a low financial class. “Negroes [the Ewells nearest neighbors] (Doc E)” , and this shows that she is most likely poor. “Long’s he keeps on callin’ me ma’am and sayin’ Miss Mayella I don’t have to take his sass (Doc C)” , and this shows that she is most likely not being treated well which makes sense because she is poor most likely. Mayella and her living conditions makes her class to be in such a low state.
