Maintaining integrity involves keeping thoughts, speech and actions unified. When faced with a conflicting situation a person can either maintain integrity ...or not. There is no way to reconcile an apposing thought and action, other than to choose integrity or compromise. Maintaining integrity involves choosing what one believes and standing up for it. Anyone who professes one belief on the face of the public, only to go and do something completely different, is unanimously declared a hypocrite or liar. How many times has society criticized politicians and other influence figures for exactly that issue?
Of course, it can be harder to face a conflicting situation when unsure of what one believes. Unresolved thoughts lead to indecision and
