With this in mind, Macbeth’s corruption of purity all starts when he gets confronted by the weird sisters who informs him of his prophecy of being king. In reaction to his prophecy of being king Macbeth says, “If chance will have me King, why Chance may crown me, Without my stir.” (1.3.157-159). For this reason, Macbeth is still a coward because he is ready to let destiny crown him king without his interference, which means that he will not do what is wrong to become king. Macbeth then begins to be corrupted when he finds out that Malcolm, the king’s son, will be the next in line for the throne.
