enjoy, and to continue to enjoy for the years to come. Frankly, I have always been a special breed because I enjoyed learning and living with other cultures all my life. That philosophy has not change, and I do not plan on changing that. Although, I will still continue to improve in the way I live with them and share my experiences as they allow me the privilege to conduct my research by further gaining the knowledge of their existence. Recently something happened while reading “Looking at Philosophy by Donald Palmer”, that I could not help but to wonder the thought of Arthur Schopenhauer’s “Sublimation” because it brings valid points of us as human beings. He described that everything that has to do with culture, lives by the basis of sex …show more content…
Destroy that evil cycle and create a positive cycle for the next generations that we help create, and that would be something I’ll be willing to lead.
The Black and Brown cultures share very similar dispositions as minorities because of how these two cultures experience being push around and belittled by other cultures. Like a defenseless kid against a bully from school, the bully will tend to show the same prejudice to any kid. This applies to any culture, as they will receive the similar punishment just for belonging to a culture that isn’t liked very much. Only until those kids found out that they can work together, will they be able to stand up and fend off the school yard bully. With that being said, I believe that both the Black and Brown communities can learn from each other to defend themselves passively, and empower each other because there is power in numbers. I also think that the unique open minded approach, and out spoken nature of the Black communities will further entice the Brown communities to act in a similar way to defend themselves from the ignorance and bigotry of this country. In truth, this is happening more and more

Throughout history there has been discrimination to those who are different. It has been the culprit behind many organized and unorganized hate crimes. Just as there are many people that feel the need to judge and put others down, there are others willing to fight for the rights of those that can’t defend themselves. Sadly this is not just a thing of the past. I can remember how growing up I was discriminated and looked down upon for speaking English with a Cuban accent and how my teachers at the time had no idea of how to handle the situation.…

In America we have blacks that live in fear by treatment they receive from education, police, and society due to the color of their skin. The past 21 years that I have been alive, our nation has experienced both racial progression and digression. On November 8th, 2016 when Donald Trump became the president of the United States, I realized that as an African-American my ideological perspective would be a combination of a Black Nationalist and a Radical Egalitarian. Today I am going to argue that there are characteristics from both ideologies that are vital to African-Americans racial progression. I will do this by giving you examples of some of the African-American community’s major turning points in the country, but also how those accomplishments are still limited today. To get full racial justice for a group of people who have been oppressed for hundreds of years is going to…

There are some things that I have noticed in the book that may still happen today but I do not think that they would be nearly as severe as they were back in the 1920’s when the lynching’s in Duluth happened or even before the 1920’s. The officer who interviewed Sandra about the rape just believed everything that she said without doing much investigation into if all her facts line up together. Today I think that something similar could happen but I think police would investigate it much more than they did back in Duluth, when the crime was committed. I think that this might happen today if the police officer who is conducting the interview with a young Caucasian woman, if the police officer has any form of prejudice or bias toward any specific…

The following passage from Schopenhauer first sentence states “ Optimism is at bottom the unmerited self-praise of the world, the will to live, which views itself complacently in it’s works.” What this sentence is trying to say is that every human being should feel sure of the truth that she/he has to the greatest extent assertion to happiness and pleasure. If this does not happen then it will only leave one being to believe that she/he is at fault. She/he would then come to a conclusion that their existence no longer matter. From this happening then one’s being than becomes a denial for the will to live.…

In his essays titled “On the Vanity of Existence”, “The World as Will and Representation”, and “On the sufferings of the world”, Arthur Schopenhauer discusses the inevitability of suffering in life, what causes it, and what we can do to ease it. In this case the suffering refers to our constant un-satisfaction with our lives because of our need to always have and want more. Throughout this essay I am going to be answering the questions of why suffering is inevitable and what we can do to ease our suffering. Schopenhauer states that our suffering is caused by our will as human beings, the fleeting nature of our lives, and the illusion that is our lives. He goes on to further state that we can ease the suffering of our lives through art, beauty,…

Culture is the essence of human interaction. It is how the world expresses the passions, inspirations, and purposes of differing lifestyles, when simple conversation won’t suffice. We exchange cultures for a mutual understanding of how those of the same race perceive the world in an estranged point of view; the extensive evolvement humans have made throughout different environments, behaviors, and beliefs. Although culture is what unifies the global society, it also divides. It shares the human affinities and juxtaposes dichotomies.…
