In the past couple of years, abortion has been one of the many controversial topics that has valid points from a religious and personal point of views. Religiously, the idea of abortion is frowned upon because one would essentially be taking a life or lives away from the world in which God created. The United Methodist Church in the United States stands by their beliefs in that "While opposes abortion because goes against the “equally bound to respect the sacredness of the life and well-being of the mother and the unborn child... [Abortion is] reject[ed] as a method of gender selection or birth control," (http://www.umc.org/what-we-believe/the-nurturing-community) In a personal point of view, an individual would support abortion because of the reasoning of having the right to do whatever she wants with her body and abort it without any people, religious, or governmental interference. This idea is seen and a great support resource with the Declaration of independence, allowing an individual to hold “truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal [and] they are endowed by their Creator with certain in unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness," (The Declaration of Independence; The Want, Will and Hopes of the People). Christian Individuals whom live in Texas may argue with the concept of abortion by saying that we were all blessed with the liberty of life by the Creator, as well as the focus of men. However, women have been given the right to vote for whomever she pleases, the rights to safe abortion, and the definition of happiness could vary depending on religious views. Because of the 19th amendment, women have the right to vote for her ideal
