“college sleeping” which is the process of power sleeping and waking up and studying again. I decided to write my paper based on the problem with sleeping schedules and how it actually affects the human physiology of a person. As a consequence the process of sleeping is beneficial versus non-benificial. Lack of sleep often leads to many psychological and physical burdens such as cognitive impairments, emotional stress, high blood pressure, obesity and digestive problems. Although we know lack of sleeping can cause these affects, scientist have been trying to figure the cure to insomnia for years because a brain without sleeping will always lead to neurological damage. The study of sleep deprivation has been going on for more than a few centuries, but as all the study goes they always have the same leading results for consequences of lack of sleep. Most study will …show more content…
The study continues to talk about recordings done by an electroencephalogram show abnormalities in brain activity patterns in area mostly in the cortex, forebrain, hippocampus and striatum. Each of these functions lead to an important part such as the hippocampus which is the center of your memory control and when you sleep is when you retain the most information. Another big one is your forebrain which is the wakefulness center which can cause neural function based on an increase of nitrc oxide and adenosine. In an article written by society for neuroscience supports the evidence that lack of sleep can affect memory and work performance “Individuals who slept eight hours a night steadily increased their working memory efficiency on this task. But participants who slept only four hours a night failed to show any improvement in memory efficiency. Motor skill did not change across days for either group of participants.” (Society of Neuroscience
