I agree with the advice that Jimmy gave when it came to making barriers for yourself and potentially avoiding ways from taking advantage of others. In Jimmy’s case he was tempted by females and had to learn how to put a guard up and avoiding certain situations. Some advice Jimmy gave for this was to not depend on his own will power but the will power of God. Jimmy knew he couldn't handle the temptation alone. Jimmy also said to surround yourself with good people, avoid compromising situations, and to position yourself for success rather than failure. I believe all of Jimmy’s advice is good. It had me thinking about the little things in life that makes me happy for me to keep fighting through whatever that’s going on with me. Couple of things that makes me happy in life is family, friends, and having high self-confidence whenever I do stuff in life on my own. After watching his video, I felt a little confidence came in while watching this video, because of what he said in his speech that made me think of the great wonders of life and not the bad things in life. The worldview philosophy I most closely identify with is cathartic (psychological) transformation and empowerment. I believe the influencers that have caused me to seek authoritative careers and embark on achievements beyond limitations to validate my worth were my absent parents. I’ve experienced a lot of personal distress as a child growing up with the feeling of abandonment, insecurity and neglect. I felt my love ones had no logical reasoning for allowing me to grow into an adult feeling these type damaging emotions and cognitive illusions. According to Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.”…

Temptation is the toughest obstacle in life to get past. People desire all sorts of things, and many of those desires can be destructive for the possible salvation leading into the next life. St. Cyril of Jerusalem intellectually compared temptation to a dragon who dwells on the side of the road, looking for those passing by to devour. He added to this by saying that in order to go to the father of souls, it is necessary to past by the dragon. Due to temptation being a difficult obstacle, however, every person does not make it past and falters.…

Introduction - Human Will While reading Wilken, I was most touched by the chapter pertaining to human will. I found myself crying while reflecting about what the author stated in reference to Mary. “It is often said that the divine plan of salvation depended on Mary’s free assent to the word of the angel. The work of salvation is a work of God, but it could not be carried out without the cooperation of human beings.”(Loc 1447). I have never thought about it this way.…

Individuals and their personalities play a very key role in organizational behavior. In order for an organization to function at the highest level of productivity, managers must focus on empowering individuals in order to strengthen the group rather than enforcing autocratic leadership to force the individuals to serve the needs of the group. Managers themselves also need to know their own strengths and weaknesses based on their personality types as well as common strengths and weakness for personality types present in their employees. For instance, a people with an Introversion-iNuition-Feeling-Perception (INFP) personality type might be best motivated for the purpose of serving the well-being of others; however, these same INFP personality…

Each person Eddie meets in heaven helps him to understand his purpose in life and helps him to forgive those who have hurt him. The most valuable lessons to be learned from Eddie’s journey are: that there are no random acts, that life has to end, but love does not, and that sacrifice is not something to regret.
