In the books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke in the Bible, Jesus was asked on numerous different accounts if he was the Son of God. While he seldom, if any at all, blatantly said “yes,” he also wouldn’t correct the other person by telling them they were wrong. It is known that he makes claims in the Bible, yet it is still a question if he had ever claimed to be the Son of God. By going through the Bible, specifically in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, it can easily be decided how Jesus made these claims and how he handled people referring to him as “the Christ” or as “the Son of God.” In other words, Jesus made claims throughout the Bible, but special attention should be payed to whether he claimed to be God’s Son. Jesus claimed to have the ability to forgive sins, this is essentially a claim to be God (7.25.3). In Luke 5:20-21, “When Jesus saw their faith, he said, ‘Friend, your sins are forgiven.’ The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, ‘Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?’” Jesus explained he was the fulfillment of the “Son of Man” prophecy described in the Old Testament, and that he would be seated at the right hand of God in heaven (7.25.3). Luke 22:69 explains this claim by saying, “But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God.” Jesus says that he will be seated next to God in heaven in other verses as well. In Luke 23:1-3 the claim of Jesus acknowledging that he was the king of the Jews is seen once again. Luke 23:1-3 says, “Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate. And they began to accuse him saying, ‘We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Christ, a king.’ So Pilate asked Jesus, ‘Are you the king of the Jews?’ ‘Yes, it is as you say,’ Jesus replied.” Just like in Mark 14:61-64, Jesus agrees and says “yes” when asked if he was “the
