During World War II, Japanese forces in Indochina to capture revenue and French forces that were in the area earlier colonial power in the region was temporarily short. Japan's defeat in the war with Vietnam's communist forces and demanded the independence of Vietnam and the second in September 1945 in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam independent statehood.
