Jainism is very specific in regards to what they consider to be non-violent because they want their followers to understand that there are living beings in everything and everywhere, even if we are unable to see them. They want followers to be mindful of every possible action that they make or have any part of, as it could be harmful. (Jainism handout, pg. 100-101) Unbeknownst, by performing simple task such as drinking water whenever we feel like it, we could be harming microscopic living beings that are in the water.
In regards to Jainism’s view, the problem of the world is that we harm ourselves and others by our actions when we seek to have no regards for our own life or the lives of other beings. The only way to rid ourselves
