According to the “R.M.S Titanic”, “The White Star liner Titanic, largest ship the world had ever known, sailed from Southampton on her maiden voyage to New York on April 10, 1912.” Many assumed the Titanic was “unsinkable” because it “was believed to be the safest”. There were many passengers who had survived; however, less than ⅓ of the passengers did not survive. Miss. Emily Louisa Badman is one of many people who lived to tell their significant story. The sinking of the Titanic was blamed on an iceberg; however, the ignorance of the ship’s crew had caused hundreds of passengers their life.

On the second day a steamship, The Californian, had sent warnings that they were stuck and surrounded by ice. The Titanic’s reply was, “‘Shut up shut up; keepout. I am talking to Cape Race; you are jamming my signals.’’ Later that

A friend she had met while on the boat was getting married which later resulted in her staying in America. Emily married and had three sons, then later died on July 17,

Although there were many different factors that played a role into the sinking of the Titanic, the weather played a huge role into it. It was clear with no moon, and the sea was completely calm, making it hard to tell if any danger was ahead (Cummins). After the Titanic had hit the iceberg, only one ship answered its distress signals; the Carpathia, but it unfortunately came when too many people had died and the crew members on the ship were only able to rescue 700 survivors (“Titanic Sinking”). Many people died that horrific night, but it the outcome of deaths would’ve been smaller if the ship would have had enough lifeboats for all of the passengers on board. There wasn’t enough lifeboats on the ship because the company that the Titanic came from; the White Star Line did not want to clutter the deck of the first class (Schama).…
