International adoption gives children that are living in fear an opportunity for a better life here in America. The advantages of adopting outweigh the disadvantages. First and forth most, every child deserves to live in a safe environment. Some places overseas does not provide that for children. According to Schaefer (2015), "Worldwide, an estimated 2 million children are living in institutional care." Why not decrease the number of children that are not in a loving home? People who adopt internationally, do not wait as long as someone who is adopting within the states. As stated on the International Adoption's website, " The average time frame is 12 –18 months." If someone was adopting within the states, it could take up to a few years.
