Integrity is often said to be “doing the right thing when no one is looking”. However, this does not define what it is; it is simply a result of having it. That therefore begs the question: what is integrity? Integrity is doing everything in one’s power to uphold a consistent set of values. This has come up many times in my personal life. One such example happened when I was in sixth grade. There was a kid with whom I would ride the bus who had Down syndrome. While we did not get along well together, I still knew him by virtue of sitting near each other every day to school. One day, a kid came up and started harassing him.
