Integrity means that as a person gets older they start reflecting on what accomplishments, goals, and successes they have met and find satisfaction in how they have lived their lives. Despair in other hand means that as a person gets older they feel unaccomplished, disappointed and unhappy in where they stand in life. They feel they didn’t accomplish everything they wanted and are unsatisfied with their lives. “Persons are depressed about disappointments, failures and missed chances in life” (Hearn et al., 2011, p. 2). They are often sad and tend to verbalize regrets and feel like they have wasted much time of their lives.…
Academically I’ve always done rather well. I try to keep all my grades at A’s or B’s and nothing below that. I am very hardworking and I always put my best effort into my work. The only subject that I really struggle with is English…
When my senior year of high school started, I knew it was going to fly by quick. My grades were always perfect so I knew I had nothing to worry about. I took a bulk of rigorous classes. It was necessary that I took eight classes, and four of them were Advance Placement courses, and one was one duel enrolment. The other three were core curriculum courses.…
My junior year was actually pretty fun I enjoyed my classes and the fun people in my classes. I didn’t play any sports in school due to leg issues. But I did do boxing because it’s fun. Anyways, in the beginning of my junior year everything was going good until I started to be late to school a lot and never able to turn in work so my grades were dropping dramatically.…
During the first few weeks of junior year, I was put under the most stress that I have ever experienced in my life. The workload from all my AP classes was never ending and there was an enormous amount of studying to be done. I usually went to sleep around one or two in the morning during the school week due to the accumulation of swim, studying, volunteering, and school related activities. Whenever I went to school, I had difficulties focusing because I was extremely exhausted. After just a month of school, I had only one A,the rest were C’s and B’s.…
I am a student who is proactive, organized, and seeks help when needed. During the four years of my high school career I worked really hard to develop these skills. I was challenged with a variety of rigorous classes, I was part of many extra curricular activities, and I encountered teachers who assisted me through my learning process. I actively engaged in the classroom and I was able to receive good grades. I confronted arduous tasks such as the adequate way of writing a history analytical paper, the proper way to cite a MLA essay, and how to analytically read any text.…
My grades are not as stellar as it should be since I had to focus on paying for my own living situation which only gave me the choice to work every day right after school. Through all my responsibilities, I lost academic focus and my grades, specifically in sophomore year, suffered. However, I learnt the very important lesson of maintaining balance and I take full responsibility for the grades that I earned early on. I’ve taken those lessons into consideration and have worked harder in my academic pursuits to elevate my grades to a level that I would be proud of. I've learned and I've improved my GPA ever since then.…
In the future, I am attending a 4 year university; to study Radiology. To have come to this level of education I have put in many hours to study for my advanced placement classes, in order to prepare me for college life and safe money on college courses. Currently in my last year of high school, I have enrolled in seven AP classes; I invest many hours to study for these classes to pass them all. I am also the secretary of National Honor Society, and have volunteered over 50 hours in just the past year. I have also been involved in Roo Croo, an extracurricular activity where the members supported the Football team and ran flags when our team earned a touchdown.…
Several circumstances greatly impacted my academics and GPA at the beginning of my college career, which led me to withdraw from two courses and ultimately, fail one. Without these experiences, I feel that my GPA would have been significantly higher, as I would have initially devoted more focus to my grades. First, I came to the University of Arizona as a 16-year-old student with unexplored emotional trauma. Due to my father’s drug addiction, my parents were in the midst of a legal separation during my first two years of college, in which they both separately and inappropriately confided their emotions to me while I tried to focus on school. Consequently, this separation affected me emotionally, sending me into a depression that made it difficult to focus on coursework.…
The Lesson in Quitting For the past 7 years of my life, swimming has played a huge role. Growing up, I had always enjoyed being in the water, and was one of the odd kids that genuinely enjoyed swimming lessons, no bribes required (thinking about it, I wish I had some of those kids in the lessons I teach now). Overtime, it began to feel less like a passion and more like an obligation; something I had committed to that was too late to stop. I was afraid to quit, afraid to disappoint, and trying to be dedicated to a sport I had lost interest in made me start to hate it. This year, I finally decided to drop the sport, and am now embracing the huge change it has had in my life.…
When I was a freshman, I got nothing below an A or a B. When I began my sophomore year I started to slack off because I thought it was no big deal since I had received good grades the previous year. For example, I didn’t do all of my homework assignments and I started missing school because I didn’t feel a need to go all the time. Once I noticed my grades drifting to below a C I began to focus on my work. I then realized that the material in my classes was actually very difficult.…
I work hard to pay for my education. Every break from school I have worked to bring back money to help fund it. Other than scholarships, I am alone in paying for my school and I am happy to do so because I get to learn about the subjects that I love. Majoring in computer engineering is not only going to help me find a well-paying job, but also, since I care so much about this subject, it will help me maintain a desire to work hard. Last semester I was almost always playing ultimate frisbee for my team at Club Sports, or working on my computer doing homework.…
Integrity: What Does It Means to You? What does integrity mean to you? The definition of integrity has more than one meaning. Also, the definition varies from person to person.…
My course load was more rigorous than it had ever been. I had to stay up to ungodly hours every night to finish all my assigned homework and responsibilities. In addition, I am extremely involved with extracurricular activities. I barely had time to eat, and I rarely spent time with family. When I did have downtime, it was spent attempting to get ahead in…
My last year of high school was very difficult for me. During that year, I lost a lot of important people in my family and I fell into a slump. I had depression and had to miss many of my classes in order to help out my mother and father. I realized that I was very close to failing my classes and I realized I needed to get back on track.…
