Mass hysteria is caused by deception and fear. In the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller affects past and today’s society because it spreads lies around that make people become fearful of it. Hysteria has brought millions to the attention of fear and it should be discontinued. In the past, hysterias spreading like a small cold. For example, The Salem Witch Trials, the government of colonial Massachusetts enforced the law of witchcraft to be illegal. If anyone did anything different from another they were accused of witchcraft and sentenced to death.
