In the fictional story Children of the Sea, the author Edwidge Danticat, conveys an idea that life goes on. Danticat does so by portraying her characters as weak beings with lack of hope in the beginning and having them grow as strong, hopeful people who learn to let things go. The female character in Children of the Sea is a great example of gaining hope and understanding that life goes on.
