Women have more rights today than any time we know of. Women now can earn similar wages as men. They often can gain any kind of education, they want. We have famous women physicists, astronauts, and even some women Nobel Prize winners. However, there are still some challenges and double standards in almost all societies that women have to fight. Probably the most common interpretation of hook up today is having casual sex without any kind attachment or expectation. However, a new study shows that this not true, hook ups do not involve intercourse always (Paula England et al). This study shows that hook-up is generally, meeting someone and doing something sexual, but not necessarily ends up with intercourse. The study used the data of 4000 undergraduates from several universities. Some students were interviewed as well. The result showed that 76% undergraduate students hooked up at least once and 24% of the students never hooked up. The median of hook ups per student was 6.9 hook ups. The hook ups were always related to alcohol consumption. Males drank more than females during hooking up. The results also show that from people who hook-up, 31% only made out which involved light touching. 16% of the students had some genital contact. 15% of the students had oral sex. Only 38% had intercourse. Most people they hooked up with were not total strangers, they had seen those people multiple times (Paula England et al. 560).
