Helen Keller A hero is a person who is caring, brave and determined. Heros posses these qualities, and are influential because of their outstanding achievements. Their actions influence people around them to adopt these noble qualities. Selfless and courageous heroes are people who are role models, and an example of one hero is Helen Keller. The beginning of Helen’s life was typical, but at the age of two, she became ill with a sickness called brain fever. Brain fever is a disease that causes you to lose your vision and hearing. When Helen was 6 years old, her parents hired Anne Sullivan. Anne began by teaching Helen how to finger spell. Keller attended the Cambridge School for Young Ladies in 1896.
