Mating usually starts in the dry season(September and October) so that the babies are born during the beginning of the wet season(April to May) when it’s easier to find food. After mating female iguanas carry eggs for about sixty five days before laying them. Anywhere from ninety to one hundred twenty days after the eggs were laid they will hatch.The mom digs a burrow, lays her eggs, and leaves. They are normally laid in groups of 30, also called clutches. Only thirty five percent of the eggs will hatch due to predators and other hazards effects. Once iguanas hatch they dig out of the burrow and start their life by themselves.
