Long Term Effects Of Global Warming Essay

Good Essays
Global warming has been around for a long time and in the most recent time it has become a little problem that can turn into a serious problem. We need to address global warming and the problems now to ensure the future. Also global warming is just going to keep getting worse and worse if we don 't take the Appropriate steps now. Global warming is not a joke nor a myth it is a serious problem that needs to be discussed.
Global warming is affecting us by making our climate Change significantly. Global warming happens to make the world a little warmer and it has thrown off our climates and our seasons. Our Climate temperatures tend to increase because of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gas trap heat and make the world warmer and a large amount

Ben Bova himself writes, “Migrating Animals head north earlier because of spring temperatures are arriving weeks earlier in the year. Plants blossom weeks earlier too. And plants and animals species are expanding their habits northward because of generally warmer temperatures”.(Bova 410) Bova is saying here is that global warming changing the temperatures has caused animals to leave their habitats sooner and plants to to blossom sooner than ever. One long term effect is glaciers, glaciers are are slowly melting away. If global warming keeps warming the glaciers, soon there will be no glaciers in the future causing the sea level to rise. Another long term affect is polar bears are drowning. polar bears are drowning because they have to swim further to get to a floating piece of ice. The long term effects of this means the possibility of extinction for polar bears. Lastly, Global warm affects our health, heat waves can cause heat strokes and air pollution can cause allergies and asthma. The Natural Resources Defense Council states, ”rise in average temperature will have far-reaching effects on the earth 's climate patterns and on all living things. Many of these changes have already begun”(NRDC). Furthermore, as global warming continues earth will lose some of its most important and beautiful things. The future of global warm is very …show more content…
If changes don 't occur human activity affecting global warm, human activity will make it from bad to worse. David J. Rothkopf states “A shift away from dirty old fuels is the only path toward reducing several of the greatest security threats the planet faces, but we must carefully and avoid letting our optimism run away with us”(Rothkopf 419). To take case in point, we need to ditch fossil fuels and move to something cleaner. But we can 't let our will to be open minded about changing our ways for global warming. A few things that can reduce the human activity cause of global warming are driving less. driving less means few emissions coming out of your vehicle, also driving less saves money on gas. try taking public transportation, ride a bike or even carpool. Another thing you can do to reduce global warming is plain and simple, plant a few trees. Trees take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and put oxygen in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas mainly released from human activity. More trees means less carbon dioxide which equals a decrease in global warming produced by humans. Equally important, the three R’s, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. yes it is true recycling does in fact save the world and reduce global warming. Recycling reduce greenhouse gases and emission from places like landfills. lastly, educate friends, family and people

For instance, when we buy foods, we can use our own containers instead of using plastic bags. In addition, simple recycling by sorting items out of the trash that can be recycled helps to keep landfills less full and again, reduces the carbon footprint. If all this is being reuse, human can reduce deforestation and help save the environment. It also saves thousands of carbon dioxide and buy a product that has energy saving because it saves coast and…

How much more evidence do skeptical people need, to believe that global warming is a real problem and needs to be solved immediately? Global warming is one the serious issues confronting humans right now. Global warming has occurred due to carbon dioxide and other gases getting stuck near the earth’s atmosphere, creating a thick blanket trapping greenhouse gases and the sun’s heat, thus making the planet warmer. It is changing our economy, health and the way we live in different ways. Many scientists are predicting that if we do not find a solution immediately to solve global warming, the future of the earth’s climate will be devastating.…

In such a way, they should not neglect the sphere of transport and its modernization, as the variety of solutions are at hand. For example, it is possible to improve transport modes’ efficiency (miles per gallon), switching to low-carbon fuels, etc. One more effective solution that may considerably contribute to the global warming decline refers to further investigation of nuclear power. The reason is that nuclear power results in fewer global warming emissions, so a raised share of nuclear power in the energy mix will inevitably result in global warming decrease. However, this alternative rests rather dubious after the outcomes, human being experienced during the Second World War (the nuclear bomb attack in Fukushima), as well as after some serious accidents that happened on the Nuclear Power stations, for instance in Ukraine.…

According to scientists, the rise of sea levels is as a result of the melting of ice sheets due to global warming. This therefore means people near water bodies will be displaced to escape death. More storms are also experienced as a result of global warming. These storms are of great intensity and therefore become a big threat to people as they can result to deaths. The rise of temperature could also lead to extermination of many species and since most of these species of importance to human beings, it therefore results that they too are in great danger.…

The role of greenhouse gasses is to keep the earth from becoming too cold for life. Greenhouse gases, which keep the earth from being inhabitable, have dangerously increased due to humans causing a global climate change. First of all, for anyone that does not know what climate change is, it is a change in the world’s climate. A lot of people think weather and climate…

Greenhouse gases, pollution, population growth, and industrialization are some of the major factors lead to global warming. Global warming is affecting ozone layer which saves human beings from ultra violet rays. Global warming can be controlled by stopping deforestation, lesser use of air conditioners, more use of solar energy, using CNG (compressed natural gas) instead of petroleum and diesel. Antarctica is the coolest place in the earth, but in recent year’s human activities has increased in Antarctica, which led to increase in temperature and pollution in Antarctica. Some serious steps need to be taken against activities which lead global warming otherwise the result of global warming would be against the human…

Ashley Colombe ENGWR 300 December 6, 2014 The Theory of Global Warming and Climate Change: What It Is, What It Has Done, and How to Fix It The world is constantly going through changes, from freezing winters to hot summers. In recent years weather conditions, among many other things, have changed. Global warming and climate change is one theory that scientists believe has caused these recent occurrences. They have shown vast effects on the environment and the oceans throughout the United States and the world. Global warming has also afflicted animals and insects that inhabit the areas that are affected.…

Global Warming Global warming has become a major issue for us today. Global warming is an increase in temperature caused by many different natural and manmade reasons. Because of global warming, not only are humans affected, but also animals who struggle to survive and the plants who allow us to survive. Global warming is becoming a bigger risk for all of us each day. Even though there are many causes and effects, there are many ways to prevent global warming as well.…

If the Glaciers continuously melt at their current rate; while water might be in supply now, the damages it will cause later will have a greater impact. Over population, as well is a more that is a factor of Global warming, because over populated cities do not contain the cleanest air, and typically have a thin layer of pollution in the sky. The gases that are trapped in these cities causes for more greenhouse gases to remain in the atmosphere, instead of escaping. Alter methods of energy are needed if we want to see a climate change. We need to make a switch to more clean energy solutions, for example the amount of CO₂ gases that are released into the air from Coal Fire Plants is equal to the amount of half a million cars, trucks, and Semi trucks.…

Climate Change is Real Half a century from now the planet will not be the same as it is today. With the effects of climate change increasing it is destined to negatively affect the world as we know it. Many factors from humans contribute to this global climate change. Starting with the burning of fossil fuels for energy, deforestation, and greenhouse gases increasing the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. These events are some of the main reasons for our current global climate change problems; to include sea levels rising, global temperatures rising, shrinking ice sheets, ocean acidification and extreme weather events.…
