Chapter 1 of Genesis is a historical narrative about the chronological order of what God did each day during Creation Week. It is like an outline of all things that God had created during the specific time. The order of events in Genesis 1 is as followed, heavens and earth created, light shines on earth, light divided from darkness, firmament divided, land separated from water, plant life appears, sun, moon, and stars appear, animal life created and man (males and females) created. The second chapter of Genesis is about God’s final creations. God’s relations and interaction with mankind is also included. Chapter 1 focuses on the physical events of creation where as chapter 2 focuses on the spiritual events.
