Decent Essays
The field of Psychology I chose is Forensic psychology because investigating areas of criminal behavior and help solve criminal cases interest me. Even though it is extremely tough to get into, I have always been drawn into forensics. Most forensic psychologists work in courts and correctional systems. Therefore, they provide testimonies as an expert witness in a trail. If they work at correctional systems they can be a counselor to inmates. In addition, they help law enforcement by helping solve criminal cases, developing personality profiles of critical offenders, or help officers understand problems like abuse.

For most of my childhood, I basically had my heart set on becoming a veterinarian, along with many other things. Some of the other careers I considered include a surgeon, a physical therapist, an oncologist, and not at all related to those, a photographer. However, after looking into those careers, none of them appealed to me the way a forensic pathologist did. One reason I believe I should go into forensic pathology would be how I have always been interested in murders and other causes of death, especially how investigators and detectives determine how it happened. I have also always wanted to do something in the medical field.…

For a long time, psychology has been an area that I’ve been consistently drawn to. Originally, the thing that brought about my interest was human behavior and how it can be analyzed and interpreted; and also what drives our behavior. Going along with my previous statement, serial killers are another reason I wanted to learn as much as I possibly could about psychology. I started reading about them when I was between the ages of 12 and 13, first about the well-known ones that I had already heard a little about and then I moved onto the lesser-know ones.…

Criminal justice is related to food because food can be used to poison and kill people as well as it is what every average human consumes on a daily basis. If one has a poor or unhealthy background it can be related to food which could possible lead a person to commit a crime. Psychology can be related to food because depending on what and how much you eat can affect how you feel about yourself which can affect a person's thinking and could cause them to make rash decisions. I believe that the subject which makes me most qualified for studying law is History, from the foundations of the Magna Carta which are still in place today, 800 years on, to the great acts of legislation passed by Henry VIII which shaped not only the Church of England but Tudor society. Additionally, through studying History I have developed analytical skills when examining sources of information to understand to what extent a source is reliable. Psychology has given me an interest in current issues and debates not only just within the subject but in a wider context, through the application of psychological theories and studies into the real world and how these ideas can be used to help others. I have particularly enjoyed studying criminal psychology as it provides possible explanations for criminal behaviour but also explanations to how criminals can be treated to avoid the chances of recidivism. It would be unfair to characterize English language and law as an interlinked subject, however the English language is something which continually changes and adjusts to fit the demands of its users, in my opinion I think that not too dissimilarly law is something which is continually altering depending on demands of current situations.…
