In the show Scandal, there are many occasions in where there is evidence of Interpersonal Conflict. I have watched a lot of episodes of Scandal and in the episode that I chose to watch for this, “Gladiators Don’t Run” in Season 4 it touched on a few conflicts that were very easy to catch after reading the material. In Chapter 8, we read about extending social support to another and how that can backfire and make things worse if the person in need does not view it as being helpful or sees it as a form of over support (Bevan, Sole, 2014). There are two cases in particular that I would like to discuss in this essay. Many conflicts arise during each episode between multiple individuals. The conflicts involve a variety of different scenarios between Olivia Pope who is the former White House Press Secretary and suspected/known lover of the sitting president and her team as well as White House Officials. Olivia Pope has a very long history of working in the White House …show more content…

Throughout our life we interact with those that we are concerned for or admire with an enormous amount whether they may be friends, family, or even colleagues. When we converse with them we tend to disguise the actuality that we might not be aware of the other person or persons’ views, feelings or insights etc. the way we should. This becomes difficult and it is nearly impossible really get to know the person that you are communicating with. When doing so we become oblivious to the other person or persons’ true characters. This occurs after a while and can be credited to the philosophy of unconditional love within close interactions between two or more people. The 37th president of the United States, Richard Nixon, was involved criminally in a case during his presidency. He took many steps to try to cover the crime, steps that were crucial to his presidency, in which he was involved in a “Saturday Night Massacre” and allowed others to take the blame for his actions. Nixon may not have planned the scandal, nor was he even a part of the burglary, but he did many things to make it seem like he had no idea that any of the scandal had occurred. The Watergate scandal, ran by President Richard Nixon and his committee to re-elect him, was considered one of the greatest political scandals in our world today. The scandal consisted of performing illegal tasks behind everyone’s back and covering reasoning behind each of them by lying on a consistent basis. Most of the task, such as approving the Houston Plan (or Plumbers) and the U. S. bombing took place months before the day of election. Unfortunately, the members of the Plumbers were arrested, and had to go the court; this result in Nixon resigning his presidency.…

I’m Gossip Girl, a pretty big deal here in New York. I get the gossip and spread the latest news on the more well known teens that attend Constance Billard,a private school in New York. I don’t do the dirty work myself, all of the gossip that I tend to tell is sent in by other teens or just pretty much anyone who has the latest dirt on someone that they think should be exposed. The fun part about being “Gossip Girl” is that no one knows who I am. At the very end of the series, I finally tell you who I really am and trust me on this, you will be shocked and probably not think that it is true.…

In the early 1970’s there was a break in at the Democratic National Committee Headquarters, which came to be known as the Watergate break-ins. Upon Investigation It was found that top white house officials, the CIA, FBI and even the president at the time Richard Nixon was involved in trying to cover it up. This led to Richard Nixon resigning which in my opinion was to save face from the impeachment that was coming his way. In the upcoming paragraphs I will be summarizing and examining two different articles on the Watergate crisis, where both authors have totally different views on the events in which happened. There were a number of assumptions and trigger events that permitted conflict to escalate thought the movie. First of all, everyone in the movie is taking part in destructive conflict because no positive outcomes come about. These conflicts are destructive because everyone feels terrible when the Plastics insult them, Regina becomes more popular when Cady, Janis, and Damian first try to bring her down, and nothing moral will happen from Coach Carr sleeping with his students. Moreover, the conflicts taking place throughout the film are intrapersonal, as well as, interpersonal. “Intrapersonal perceptions are the bedrock upon which conflicts are built” and when they are communicated an interpersonal conflict emerges (Hocker & Wilmot, 2014,…
