From the beginning of the story, Equality 7-2521 is captivated by the Uncharted Forest, drawn it like no one else and despite his own wishes. He says “We do not wish to look upon the Uncharted Forest. We do not wish to think of it. But ever do our eyes return to that black patch upon the sky” (47). It is a place of the unknown, and stories are made up aimed to the people living in the society to not escape. The society refuses to enter it, just as it refused to learn about nature concluded with the search of science. For Equality 7-2521, nature gives him the chance to live alone and continue by the work of his own hands, an opportunity he is repudiated in society. In contrast to society, that takes away what a persons’ can claim as his own,
