What Is El Patron Evil

From reading this chapter I can conclude that El Patron is in fact evil along with the rest of society. The society in this novel is in a time when all laws regarding the care and equal treatment for human life has been diminished into a mere caste system with the eejits on the bottom and the wealthy Alacráns on the top. It is mentioned that El Patron is good or evil only when he wants to be one way or the other. Yet he made a decision to be mostly evil a long time ago. From this I feel that Matt is almost compelled to believe El Patron is a good man due to the fact that he is a clone of him. I do want Matt to realize that El Patron is in fact evil later on in this novel though. And unlike Matt who thinks he will turn out to be the same evil man El Patron is, I believe that he has the power to differ from the corrupt ways of El Patron. …show more content…
In part of this chapter Matt is led by María to escape yet he doesn’t know whether he should touch the scorpion or not. From what I know about them is that since Matt is El Patron’s direct clone, he should automatically have identical DNA. If I was Matt I would have pressed the scorpion to escape as well yet unlike Matt I would not have believed El Patron to be a good man. The final scene in this chapter ends with Matt being taken off to the hospital. I think it is ridiculous for him to be considered livestock. He is a human in every way and it seems that is what Steven forgot when he sent Matt away. I also do not understand why El Patron would clone himself to simply kill his clone. This chapter left me confused and wanting to know what the outcome of Matt’s life will

As previously said by Mark Twain, "Everyone is a moon, and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody." This statement illustrates how, no matter who, everyone can be influenced by negative aspects such as vanity, selfishness, arrogance and desire for power. Farmer's novel narrates the story of a boy who wishes to be included in society and later discovers he is the clone of an important figure, El Patron.…

Epicurus was one of the first philosophers to consider the problem of evil and his question; “if He is both willing and able (to take away all evils), which alone is suitable to God, from what source then are evils? Or why does He not remove them?” , summarises concisely the issue which has been at the forefront of philosophical argument for thousands of years. To explore this question I will first consider what God is. In this essay I will refer to God in the orthodox monotheistic sense of the word as an omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent being. Likewise, evil refers to all that is bad in the world.…
