The United States has reluctantly adjusted to the new presidency, but what would happen to America if President Trump was impeached? Donald Trump currently possesses the highest executive officer of the modern republic, as the Chief Executive of the United States. Mark Yarnell said “a leader is someone who demonstrates what’s possible.” According to Sean Stewart Price, “it takes a special kind of person, someone tough, smart, and driven” to be the president. Past presidents such as Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Harry S. Truman are remembered for the positive improvements they made while in office. They have withstanded crises including the Civil War, the Great Depression, and World War II. Conservative vs. liberal. Democratic versus republican. The U.S. government has always shifted between who is right and who is wrong, and sometimes there is no right or wrong. When it came to the election of Donald Trump, the spotlight was on Congress more than ever. Since President Trump’s presidency, his approval rating dropped to the all-time low of 35 percent according to a Marist College Poll. Seventy-five percent of Congress democrats side with Trump’s impeachment, but only 7% of republicans hold the same notion. Prominent republican senators such as John McCain, Rand Paul, and Chuck Grassley are for removing Trump from office, however, the House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says otherwise. Pelosi appeared on CNN’s State of the Union and was quoted saying "I believe that whatever we do, we have a responsibility to first and foremost to unify the nation."
