Defying the Stereotypes
Have you ever been stereotyped or judged? I am almost certain that at least one time or another someone has generalized you, or put you into a little box so you would fit the mold of what our society says. There are a number of different clubs, activities, teams, and programs at any given high school. Along with these groups comes stereotypes like “jocks are the popular kids who run the school and don’t have to work for anything”, “band kids are misfits who weren’t accepted anywhere else”, “cheerleaders are peppy airheads who are very ditzy and at the top of the social totem pole”, “people on the quiz team are nerds”, “students who participate in drama club are weird outcasts who nobody likes”, and “student council
