America is one of the most diverse countries in the world with many different ethnicities and cultures. Since you will meet a lot of diverse patients in a hospital, you must be skilled with cultural care and cultural competency. Anyone going into healthcare needs to be able to treat a patient with different beliefs from yours and possibly unable to speak English. So, you need to know your own heritage and how your culture treats health and illnesses. Afterward, you need to be able to understand different cultures and their own beliefs on health. I have no experience in healthcare, but I am going to volunteer and observe at a hospital very soon. Learning about different cultures will prepare me for the future when I will have to treat patients
