Crime in America is a very serious social problem and several factors have been linked with the frequent occurrence of violent crimes. One of the reasons is that there is the presence of a large economic disparity between the rich and the poor. Another reason is the usage of drugs that has plagued the American society thereby leading to the frequent bouts of violent crime. There is also the influence of violent content in the media that have encouraged violence. An important factor that is attributed to violence is the easy access to guns in America. This nation has the highest rate of gun crime in the world.
