In an effort to provide the most effective services to those incarcerated, those assigned to some form of community corrections Tennessee has a training facility dedicated to providing employs of the correctional system and community corrections with proper training at the Tennessee Correctional Academy. Additionally, the employees attend in-service training to enhance their knowledge of correctional practices as well as introduce new practices they can employ on the job (Tennessee Department of Correction, n.d.f). In 2013, Tennessee created the Office of Reentry to track offenders, recognize their needs for rehabilitation, as well as prepare them for reentry into the community. In addition to the previously mentioned resources for offenders, Tennessee created the Probation and Parole Technical Violators Diversion Program in 2006 (Tennessee Department of Correction, n.d.c). This program allows offenders who have violated the conditions of their release without obtaining a new charge to complete a program geared toward establishing work ethics and education combined with treatment programs to avoid incarceration to regain their release.
