Is college really necessary? Is it really helpful? A college education is important and valuable because it helps you get wealthy to maintain yourself, make you smarter to get a job, and make a stronger community. Having a college education helps you get wealthy to maintain yourself. Studies show people with college degrees earn more than people who graduate from high school. Obama says " you've got to train for it and work for it and learn from it." Also, you can't just drop out of school and just drop into a good job. In fact, the rate of being unemployed of having a high school diploma is 9.4% and the rate of being employ having a college degree is 8.7%. Another fact is that people with a bachelor's degree earn about $415 more a …show more content…
College graduates on average are smarter and have better work habits than high school graduates. Obama says " we need every single of you to develop your talents and your skills and your intellect, so you can help us old folks with some of our most difficult problems." Furthermore, if you want to be doctors, teacher, police officer, nurse, lawyer, or even an architect you will need a good education to every single of these carriers. For instance, you will need a good education like learning science and math to cure diseases like cancer or AIDS. For you to get there you will need to got college to get even smarter than before. An example is you will need the insights and critical thinking skills you gain in history and social studies to fight poverty, crime, and discrimination, and make our nation more fair and more free. Lastly, you will need the creativity and ingenuity you gain in all your classes to build new companies that will create new jobs and boost our …show more content…
Having a stronger community will make us stronger and wealthier. To begin with, if you don't want to go to school or you want to quit school, that is really bad. In fact, Obama said" you're not just quitting on yourself, you're quitting on your country." He also said "what you make of your education will decide nothing less than the future of this country." For example, you will need the creativity and ingenuity you gain in all your classes to build new companies that will create new jobs and boost our economy. Like I said before, it is making our country stronger because it can help people with the most difficult problems when we need to and for emergencies. In order for you to get there you will need to never give up and not let yourself down. A very great example is Michael Jordan because he never gives up even though he was cut from his high school basketball team and lost of hundreds of games and missed thousands of shots during his career.
